Protospace began as a discussion in the very early months of 2009. Very quickly, regular meetings were being held at a local facility. From there the group put together a membership structure and leased their own space in the summer of 2009. That space now serves as a meeting place, social area, workshop, and general home base for Calgary's techies, geeks, artists, tech groupies, and DIY minded individuals.

General meetings are held every Tuesday at the "Space" (1012 MacLeod Trail S.E.), starting at 7:00pm. These meetings are open to the public and are a great chance to check us out. Meetings may have a formal portion covering group policies, issues, schedules, etc. There is always a more relaxed social period before or after these bouts of formality, where people take part in various discussions, or work on their projects.
